Since I was a kid
For my birthday once I got a box of about five thousand plain LEGO bricks — no kit, no instructions, just the pieces. I’d run a filter in my own head: what could I build that no one has ever thought of?
The one I was proudest of was a human eye — a curve, made entirely out of straight bricks. The trick was that no single brick bends more than a degree or two, but if you stack enough of those tiny bends along a long enough line, you can make any curve you want.
I’m still that kid. The only thing that changed is the material. The most fascinating material there is, it turns out, is a human being — precisely because, unlike a brick, it’s alive. You can’t force it into place. It has to open on its own. That constraint isn’t a limit I put up with; it’s the whole reason the work is worth doing.
What it’s really for
The further I go with this, the more friends I make — in two senses.
The ordinary one. And the deeper one: I get to have a hand in someone becoming wise enough, and awake enough, to forge a real friendship — with themselves, with existence, and with the people around them. One of whom, sometimes, is me.

What I actually do
Three ways, depending on what you need. None of them are advice from the outside; all of them are a steady hand while you do the real thing.

A carefully prepared, safely held psilocybin journey — one full day, one-on-one. Not an escape; a homecoming.

A focused, one-time session on what you’re wrestling with — a concentrated shift when you need one.

When something between people needs to heal — not to make the conflict disappear, but to let the learning in it happen, on every side.

Underneath all of it is one audacious idea: that peace is an invention — a real thing we can build, and have never yet built at scale. I think about it out loud, most days, in the Log.
